Joey Paul
Joey Paul is grateful to be entering his 33rd year as a band director in Aledo ISD, where he currently serves as Director of Bands and Fine Arts Department Chair at Aledo High School. Throughout his career, Mr. Paul has remained focused on creating meaningful musical opportunities for students and fostering a strong sense of community through music.
He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Tech University, where he studied trumpet under Will Strider, and a Master of Education from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
Mr. Paul directs the Aledo High School Wind Ensemble and coordinates the district’s band program across grades 6–12. Since 1993, the program has grown from 150 to more than 600 students, thanks to the support of a dedicated team of educators, students, families, and the Aledo community.

In 1999, the marching band was invited to perform at the Texas Governor’s Inaugural Parade for George W. Bush in Austin.

Since Mr. Paul began teaching in Aledo, the district’s concert and marching bands have earned more than 100 UIL Sweepstakes Awards. Students regularly achieve placements in TMEA All-Region, Area, and All-State Bands and perform at the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest.

Two original works have been commissioned in honor of his years of service: What Greater Calling by Willie Owens (25th year) and Dedication Fanfare by Carol Chambers (30th year).
In 2003, Mr. Paul and his wife Karen, a choral music educator in Aledo ISD, founded the Aledo High School chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. The chapter has grown from just 12 students to over 100, fostering student leadership, service, and music advocacy across the district and community.
Mr. Paul is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity, National Association for Music Education, and the Conn-Selmer VIP Program. He remains active as an adjudicator and clinician across the state.
He and his wife Karen have four children—Gustin, Tyler, Alyssa, and Noella—and two dogs, Buddy and Coda. Outside of the band hall, he enjoys hiking, biking, exercising, camping, and spending time with his family.

Jake Albin
Jake Albin is currently in his 21st year as a music educator and serves as the Associate Director of Bands at Aledo High School. He currently oversees the Marching Band, the Symphonic Band, and all Jazz studies at Aledo ISD. Under his direction, each ensemble has consistently received Division 1 ratings and numerous accolades and awards across the state. Mr. Albin also teaches Music Technology at Aledo High School.

Mr. Albin attended Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, TX, where he graduated Cum Laude and received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. At Texas Tech, he studied the art of saxophone with Don Turner and David Dees. Jake performed in numerous concert and jazz ensembles under the direction of Dr. Cody Birdwell, Keith Bearden, and the late James Sudduth. In 1999, the Goin’ Band from Raiderland was awarded the Sudler Trophy for excellence in intercollegiate marching band performance. Jake has served in multiple officer roles in the music fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi.

Jake Albin moved to Aledo, TX in 1992 and graduated from Aledo High School in 1995. During that time, he performed under the direction of Tom Hall and Joey Paul.
​
Mr. Albin has been nominated as a Who’s Who Teacher, Grammy Music Educator, and a Marva Collins Educator. He is married to Alicia Albin and has twin daughters, Julia May and Clara Rose; and a son, Hudson Timothy. Jake Albin’s professional affiliations include: Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmaster Association, Texas Jazz Educators Association, and ASCAP.

Dexx Moore
​
Mr. Moore is excited begin year two with the Aledo High School band family as an Assistant Band Director!
​
Mr. Moore graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Texas State University in May of 2019. During his time at Texas State, he had the pleasure to perform under the baton of Dr. Caroline Beatty, Dr. Kyle Glaser, and Mr. Matthew Holzner. Mr. Moore studied privately with Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at Texas State, Raul Rodriguez. Mr. Moore marched drum corps with the Troopers (2015) and the Bluecoats (2016-2017).
​
Mr. Moore served as a marching technician for Cedar Park High School and Westlake High School for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Mr. Moore is currently on the brass staff of the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps.
​
His professional affiliations are Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Texas Music Educators Association. Mr. Moore was named Aledo ISD beginning teacher of the year for the 2019-2020 school year. When he is not teaching, you can find Mr. Moore with his Fiancé Emily mountain biking or driving a Jeep over a mountain! Mr. Moore looks forward to many years of music making with the students of Aledo ISD!
Scott Stephens
Scott Stephens is in his second year of teaching in the Aledo ISD. He graduated from Texas Christian University in May 2018 with his Bachelor of Music Education degree. While attending TCU, Mr. Stephens’ performance experiences included the TCU Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Horned Frog Marching Band, Steel Band, PASIC Snare Ensemble, and the PASIC Champion TCU Percussion Orchestra.
​
He studied with Dr. Brian A. West, Dr. Andrew Eldridge, Dr. Richard Gipson, Jeff Hodge, and Joey Carter among others. Mr. Stephens has teaching experience in Aledo, Burleson, Keller, and Springtown ISDs.
Mr. Stephens student taught in Aledo ISD in 2018 where he then served as Assistant Percussion Director for the 2018-2019 school year. He assisted with percussionist, grades 6-12, including the award-winning Aledo High School Drumline, Front Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble. He is also an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Percussive Arts Society.
